There's something special about photographing two people who found each other in the middle of the everyday grind of their careers. Sarah is a close family friend and I was truly honored to be there to capture their day- this time as both a guest and their photographer. I've had several sleepovers in that home over the years, and I've gotten to see it go from bare bones to the stunning refurbishment it is today. A grand home for the most well deserving and kind hearted family.
We started the celebration a little differently than usual. Since their ceremony at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bangor had a late morning start time I captured all the detail shots the day before. After the ceremony, we headed to their historic home in Hampden, where the day slowed down into something truly special.
They didn't hold back on the details. A live harp player set the tone, stunning florals filled every corner, and an elevated brunch spread filled the dining room with every treat you could think of. Their property itself was a gift, the kind of historic charm you can't recreate, only borrow for a day.
What I loved most about this wedding was documenting it for people near to my heart, but also for how simple yet elevated it was. I don't say this nearly enough, but I have the best career in the world and I'm truly thankful I get to share my perspective with other amazing humans.
